5. Blog entries are generally display in reverse-chronological order (the most recent post appear at the top)

Blogs haven’t been aroung for that long. Blogs have been over the internet since the year 1994. Before, they were known as online diaries where people share their opinions or personal events. Now blogging has evolved, and is increasingly gaining an enormous popularity in our everyday life, Becoming more than just a simple diary or online journal.

As blogging has became a “must have” for most companies. There are different types of blogs, these blogs can be categorized as:

Personal blogs – The most common types of blogs are personal blogs; blogs about personal topics like family, friends, travels, health or whatever, it’s up to you. (These kinds of blogs are usually private)

Cultural blogs – These talk about music, art, dance, theater, popular culture etc.

Business blog – These blogs write about the stock market and other business related topics.

Collaborative blog – Written and publish by more than one author, based in a single topic, such as politic or technology.

Educational blog – Usually use by teachers and student to participate in classroom projects like research papers or their findings.

Sports blog – Anyone who would like to talk about their favorite sport can create this kind of blogs.

How-to tips – If you specialized on any subject such as web design, English or even blogging, you can create a how-to blog to share your experiences and knowledge.

Reviews blog – Reviews blogs can be about cooking, movies, games, books and so on.

And finally the three most unwanted blogs:

Scrapers blogs – these types of blogs are managed by individuals who steal other people’s content and re-publish it without permission of the author.

Warez blogs - managed by CHARLATANS to promote pirated content such as e-books, software packages, movies, video games etc.

Affiliates marketing blogs – Scammers with the primary purpose to drive traffic to affiliates programs and get-rich-quick scheme. (Be $camsmart)

A blog gives the opportunity to raise your voice and feel heard by others. It’s a fun way to talk about whatever you wish. You can blog about anything you want or in any imaginable topic you can think of, there is no rule to start blogging (unless if it is for a good purpose). Blogging is all about connecting with your friends, family, co-workers or anyone who wants to read your work (Don’t forget that you’re the only one who decide who can read and comment on your blog). You can also decide who can write on your own blog, by creating a collaborative blog as explained before.

Are you still confused? Here is a cool video that I’m pretty sure that any of you will find it useful.

Now if you don’t have a blog yet, what are your purposes to become a blogger?
